Best seen from a high vantage point and looking south, the atmospheric show can be seen in the early morning (many of the recent displays have been between 4am and 6am) on a clear night, typically during the waning (darker) phases of the moon. Sage Advice: The experts at Resene guide us on why this soothing shade is the colour of the season

Art Direction Amber Armitage
Photography Melanie Jenkins

This season, embrace the calming quality of sage green. Subtle yet sophisticated, it’s the perfect hue to refresh your home with balance, softness, and a touch of nature-inspired tranquillity. In a world where stillness is increasingly coveted, sage green is emerging as a serene staple in modern interiors. The shade’s muted, misty palette evokes a sense of rest and renewal  —  offering a gentle, grounded antidote to overstimulation.

Understated but never dull, this verdant shade captures the quiet luxury of nature and lends itself effortlessly to both minimalist and layered aesthetics. More than just a trending tone, sage green has become a go-to for its unique ability to soften spaces without sacrificing style. Whether enveloping a living room in organic calm or adding freshness to a bathroom or bedroom, sage shades feel both elevated and approachable.

To enhance its quiet charm, pair soft hues like Resene Peace with dusky whites, pale timber, and warm metallics. For a more defined contrast, look to pair deeper tones like Resene Spanish Green with natural textures — think stone, linen, or rattan. The beauty of sage lies in its adaptability: equally at home in a country-style kitchen as it is in a sleek, modern space.

Its cool undertone keeps things airy, while its green base subtly connects the indoors to the natural world. Balanced, bold, and ever-relevant, sage green is the modern neutral that brings fresh perspective — no matter the room or inhabitant’s aesthetic leaning.

Step inside a grand Victorian villa reimagined with a thoughtful contemporary addition

Reimagining a grand Victorian villa with a thoughtful contemporary addition, Mim Design’s Adelaide Villa draws its stunning surrounds in, elevating the experience of home.

Nestled in Melbourne’s bayside suburb of Brighton, Mim Design’s Adelaide Villa transforms a grand Victorian home into a modern family sanctuary, harmoniously blending historical charm with contemporary design. The clients, captivated by the house’s period allure, enlisted Mim Design to expand the residence into a light-filled haven, with the business of family life in mind. Enveloped by lush gardens, the home plays into its incredible surrounds, maximising the outlook at every turn.

Capturing views across the garden was key, according to Charlotte McGill, Director of Interiors at Mim Design — part of the clever team tasked with the home’s architecture, interior design, furniture, and styling. Mim Design approached the project holistically, opening up and expanding on the back of the home, while ensuring a seamless transition between old and new.

The Victorian villa’s original scale and potential is honoured in the new addition, with lofty ceilings creating a sense of openness and inviting light into the home.

At the street frontage, a simple concrete wall introduces the pared-back and sleek design codes of the property, continued in the extension that, while calling on contemporary materials, mirrors the original home’s grandeur. The Victorian villa’s original scale and potential is honoured in the new addition, with lofty ceilings creating a sense of openness and inviting light into the home.

At the home’s entrance, an ornate, arched hallway, lined with bedrooms, a bathroom, and a reading room, preserves the home’s traditional elegance, meeting the extension with steel-framed, full height windows. Bridging the gap between old and new, oak hardwood floors and lofty 3.5 metre ceilings seamlessly connect the historic front with the contemporary addition. By creating a material separation between the extension and the existing home, Mim Design was able to maintain the full scope of the heritage home’s integrity. An airy atrium at the intersection between old and new acts as a conduit, borrowing elements from each to create a stunning and seamless separation.

Capitol Complex chair by Pierre Jeanneret for Cassina from Matisse

A richly finished study, designed to embrace the view of the lush verdant gardens designed by Kate Patterson Landscapes sits to the east, offering a refined retreat. While the addition’s open kitchen, living, and dining spaces feature a pared-back monochromatic palette, complemented by sculptural furniture, delicate pendant lighting, and contemporary art punctuating the serene ambience and hinting at its inhabitants’ character. In the light-filled kitchen, a monolithic Bianco Lana marble island serves as an anchor point; its design echoing the charred, timber-clad Sugi Ban blades of the home’s rear facade. Expansive glazing connects the interior with the outdoor landscape and pool, while a garage and discrete studio apartment rendered in concrete and timber offers a private retreat for guests at the property’s end.

Roll armchair by Patricia Urquiola for Kettal from Studio Italia

Throughout, Adelaide Villa’s cohesive and calming palette, softened by considered landscaping, unifies the home’s disparate parts. Mim Design is known for their thoughtfulness and finesse when it comes to giving new life to heritage buildings, and here, in Adelaide Villa, the team has masterfully bound the old and new, judiciously creating and evolving the home’s unique narrative.

Adelaide Villa is built on the traditional lands of the Bunurong People of the Kulin Nation.

Celebrate truffle season with the most decadent dishes in town

For anyone who covets the intoxicating, opulent taste of truffles, you will be pleased to know that the time has come, once again, to celebrate gastronomy’s black gold in all its glory. Whether showcased in a dedicated dining experience or shaved over a bowl of handmade pasta, the truffle takes centre stage across a number of exceptional dining venues in Auckland, offering a raft of irresistible creations that celebrate the best of the season.

Kingi

Kingi

Truffle season has arrived — and Kingi is celebrating in style. On Thursday 31st July, settle in for a one-night-only, four-course dinner where black and white truffles take centre stage (yes, even in dessert). Jax Lee-May of Kings Truffles — Kingi’s supplier and truffle expert — will share stories, secrets, and her passion for these coveted delicacies. Grown organically in North Canterbury, her truffles are among the country’s finest. Secure your spot for $189 per person.

Ahi

At Ben Bayley’s beloved Commercial Bay restaurant (where seasonal, locally-sourced fare is given an innovative, culinary twist), fresh truffles can be added to any dish on the menu for an additional $10. Promising to enhance this restaurant’s already-impressively interesting and balanced flavours, Ahi’s optional truffle topping is the perfect way to elevate your next meal here.

Queens

Queens

At Queens Rooftop, truffle season arrives with a decadent twist. Their truffle pasta layers hand-rolled saffron fettuccine with a rich creamed pāua bolognese, finished with a generous shaving of black Périgord truffle. A lush, uniquely local take on the season’s most luxurious ingredient.

Soul Bar & Bistro

Truffle season has arrived at Soul, and the team is making it a moment — serving fresh truffle tableside for an irresistibly indulgent upgrade. Add it to the signature mac & cheese (a cult favourite for good reason), the rich duck risotto, or any dish of your choosing. In truth, the possibilities are endless — because everything tastes better with a little truffle on top.

Esther

One place that is leaning into truffle season in a big way is Esther. Outside of the eatery’s ‘Dinner Delicacies’ — comprising rotating truffle specials and the option to add extra truffle to anything you fancy, Esther’s infamous truffle lunch is back and better than ever, with Tewnion Truffière from Canterbury and George’s Truffles from Riwaka both featuring across the menu. A treat for all the senses, guests are invited to dig into a six-course menu laced with extra truffle oomph. Chef Sean Connolly and Executive Chef James Laird have created a menu that sets the divine delicacies centre stage for midday dining throughout the season, for just $69 per person (min two diners). Available Wednesday to Friday, between 12–3pm.

The Grill

The Grill

The Grill is celebrating truffle season in full flavour. Choose the indulgent five-course truffle menu ($150pp), with an optional cheese course for $20, launching next week. Crayfish lovers can opt for the Surf & Turf special: half a fresh New Zealand crayfish with garlic butter, paired with a Maple & Marble grass-fed sirloin and a side, for $125 — with the option to add freshly shaved truffle for $20. And for the true truffle devotee — fresh truffle shavings can be added to any dish for $20.

Spiga

At Remuera’s Spiga, the truffle season offering keeps beautiful Italian food at the forefront, where diners can indulge in a special stuffed pappardelle with freshly sliced truffle on top, or simply add fresh truffle — shaved to order — to any dish that takes your fancy, taking the always-excellent experience of dining here up a notch.

Bossi

Bossi’s beloved Fettuccine alla Ruota — tossed in a Parmigiano Reggiano wheel and finished with truffle oil — gets an extra flourish this season with freshly shaved truffle for $12 a gram. In fact, you can add fresh truffle to any dish on the menu. Whether you’re after a subtle hint or full, flavour-packed indulgence — they’ve got you covered.

Huami

Huami

Huami brings a luxurious twist to a signature favourite with its black truffle peking duck — crispy, succulent, and infused with earthy richness. For an extra hit of indulgence, fresh truffle shavings can be added to any dish for $20. A bold, flavour-packed way to experience truffle season with a Chinese fine-dining flair.

Elmo’s

One of the best places to go for a taste of delicate truffles is always Elmo’s. This Ponsonby Road hotspot pulls out all the stops in honour of truffle season, with delectable pizza taking centre stage. The ‘in truffle we trust’ pizza pairs béchamel, wild thyme, mushrooms, black truffle, chives, mozzarella, and egg yolk — and is not to be missed. We recommend booking a table at this Ponsonby Road hotspot immediately.

Bivacco

Where better to celebrate the indulgence of truffle season than at one of our favourite Auckland dining destinations? Viaduct Harbour’s Bivacco is embracing winter truffle season wholeheartedly, offering a number of tasty ways to celebrate the arrival of these delectable morsels in fitting fashion. An edit of exceptional dishes highlighting freshly shaved Périgord Truffles are joining the menu — from delicate beef carpaccio with truffle, salsa verde, pickled baby onion, chive, and ricotta salata, to the mushroom pizza with truffle, gorgonzola, walnut, and rocket.

Gilt Brasserie

Gilt

Gilt is unsurprisingly celebrating the season in style with a decadent Riwaka truffle spaghetti, pairing freshly shaved truffle with butter and parmesan. This delectable dish is available on the menu for lunch or dinner — providing a sophisticated salve for the gloomy weather.

Takapuna Surf Club

Takapuna Surf Club is serving up a coastal spin on comfort with their neapolitan cacio e pepe pizza. Topped with shaved black truffle, cracked pepper, and a golden egg, it’s a simple yet indulgent ode to truffle season — best enjoyed with sea views and a crisp glass of something delicious.

Bar Albert & Mozzarella & Co.

Bar Albert & Mozzarella & Co.

Truffle season has arrived at Voco, bringing earthy indulgence to Mozzarella & Co. and rooftop favourite Bar Albert. Celebrate winter with the trattoria’s signature truffle pizza or add freshly shaved truffle to any main for a decadent upgrade. At Bar Albert, sip the exclusive truffle cocktail — an elevated blend of vodka, Amaro and citrus — or top off bar snacks with a $12 hit of black gold.

Lebanese Grocer

While the details are yet to be announced, we have it on good authority that Lebanese Grocer has received their first truffle delivery of the season, and we can’t wait to see what they whip up. Known for turning out some of (if not the) best Lebanese food in town, we’ve got high hopes.

A Return to Colour: The bold revival of deep hues in interiors

After years of pared-back minimalism and the omnipresence of beige, colour is making its triumphant return — and it’s not doing so quietly. Across interiors, we’re seeing a confident embrace of richer, moodier palettes, with deep, royal blues, jewel-toned greens and sumptuous terracotta reds ushering in a new chapter of visual decadence.

These hues aren’t simply decorative — they’re emotive. A deep blue stair or sumptuous sofa anchors a room with both calm and drama, while decadent green marble adds a calming sense of elegance to a kitchen or bathroom. Terracotta, once relegated to Mediterranean holiday homes, now feels utterly current — especially when rendered in plush upholstery or used on a feature wall, its warmth offering both comfort and depth.

Importantly, these colours aren’t being used timidly. Designers are embracing monochromatic palettes and tone-on-tone layering, allowing texture and materiality to bring nuance — think velvet, lacquer, brushed metal, and intricate marble playing off one another in a symphony of saturation.

The effect is both intimate and opulent. A shift away from sterile perfection, this return to rich colour speaks to a deeper desire for self-expression — and for interiors that feel personal, expressive, and lived in. Whether you’re ready to paint the walls or start small with soft furnishings, these shades offer a timeless richness that can totally transform a space.

Amano's PIPE RIGATE CACIO E PEPE Pecorino with black pepper & extruded semolina pasta

Pasta weather is here — and this eatery is the place to indulge

Celebrated for its impeccable day-to-night fare that never fails to send diners on their merry way suitably satisfied, Amano is a winter favourite for a reason. This season, gather a posse and settle into a cosy booth to sample the ever-changing  (and always delicious) pastas, made fresh each day.

Below, we round up the seasonal sensations that currently have our attention, from the simple but sublime pipe rigate cacio e pepe to the Auckland Islands scampi chitarra with tomato and chilli. This is comfort food at its finest.

Pipe Rigate Cacio e Pepe

Amano’s pipe rigate cacio e pepe has been a go-to for some time now, pairing creamy pecorino, cracked black pepper, and perfectly al dente semolina pasta — simple, soulful, and made for winter indulgence.

Chitarra, Scampi, Tomato & Chilli

Delicately sweet Auckland Islands scampi meets silky ribbons of egg pasta in a dish that feels both luxurious and comforting — a wintery ode to the sea, done just right.

CHITARRA, SCAMPI, TOMATO & CHILLI pasta

Spaghetti, Clams, Onion & Peppercorn

Plump Cloudy Bay tuatua and perfeclty al dente semolina pasta come together in a dish that’s both comforting and clean — a quietly luxurious nod to New Zealand’s coastal bounty.

Mafalda, Butternut, Sage & Goats Cheese

Sweet Pukekohe butternut melts into semolina pasta, offering a velvety, wintery richness in a dish that’s earthy, nourishing, and just the thing for cooler days.

The Pappardelle Lamb Ragu

Hearty and full of soul, this pappardelle pairs tender Hawke’s Bay lamb ragu with olives and pangritata — a rustic classic made for wintry evenings.

Gucci reimagines the monogram for a new era, with a captivating campaign starring Emily Ratajkowski

In a sun-soaked visual ode to both heritage and evolution, Gucci unveils its latest campaign celebrating the enduring allure of the GG Monogram. Starring Emily Ratajkowski and shot in Cannes, the campaign is a curated portrait of quiet moments and subtle style — from street corners to the promenade’s golden hour.

Ophidia small shoulder bag from Gucci

Photographed by Daniel Arnold, the campaign unfolds with a quiet kind of confidence — at once grounded and effortlessly in motion. It charts a rhythm between the city’s gentle chaos and the stillness of the sea. At the heart of it all is the Gucci Monogram, worn in many different iterations by Emily Ratajkowski — less as a motif, but more as a signature of identity.

Here, heritage finds new form. From the archival leanings of the Gucci Savoy line — classic travel pieces reinterpreted for now — to the debut of the Gucci Giglio handbag, there’s a through-line of craft, care, and quiet innovation. The Giglio, first revealed at the Cruise 2026 show in Florence, draws on the city’s emblematic lily — a motif reimagined in soft curves and sculptural detail.

Created within the walls of the Gucci Archive, where over a hundred years of design lives and breathes, the campaign becomes a study in continuity — of shapes, codes, and identities redefined.

Adding further dimension is a new chapter of the Ophidia collection, revisiting silhouettes from the late ’70s. Signature Web stripes, soft GG canvas, and gold-toned Double G emblems define the edit.

Ophidia small shoulder bag from Gucci

More than a campaign, this is a meditation on evolution — where heritage is not static, but living. As Gucci reimagines the monogram with Emily Ratajkowski front and centre, it reflects a quiet obsession with craftsmanship and identity, and highlights the ever-relevant power of an emblem.

The O.C.

The nostalgic TV series to watch now

You’ll never catch any judgement from us for a good rewatch. In fact, here at Denizen, we recognise that there’s something deeply comforting (even therapeutic) about slipping back into a show you once adored. As winter settles in, we’re leaning into nostalgia with a line-up of series that deliver all the drama, charm, and chaos we forgot we missed. Expect old flames, unforgettable theme songs, and fashion moments that are worth the multi-season journey alone.

The O.C.

California, here we come… again. From the sandy drama of Newport Beach to Seth Cohen’s lovable neuroticism, The O.C. still holds up as the ultimate early-2000s teen dream — angst, indie tracks and all. It’s a show that understood the chaos and complexity of growing up before we did, and somehow made it look impossibly cool.

Sex and the City

Rewatching Sex and the City is like pulling on a pair of beloved (and probably impractical) heels — familiar, a little uncomfortable, but undeniably fabulous. The dating dilemmas might feel hilariously outdated, but the friendships? Still golden. It’s a time capsule of brunches, breakups, and bold opinions — and will forever be the ultimate comfort watch.

Gossip Girl

Before social media ruled everything, there was Gossip Girl: omnipresent, omniscient, and deliciously cruel. The fashion! The betrayals! The Upper East Side opulence! It’s over the top in the best way — and somehow even juicier now in hindsight.

Gilmore Girls

Heartbreakingly human, Gilmore Girls is the kind of comfort TV that wraps you in a Stars Hollow-sized hug. The witty repartee still sparkles, but it’s the tender mother-daughter bond that keeps you coming back — especially when life gets messy.

Mad Men

Don Draper and the era of three-martini lunches, where nothing was as polished as it seemed. Mad Men is cinematic, sharp, and quietly devastating. Rewatching it now reveals just how deeply it explored identity, desire, and the American dream — all with impossibly good tailoring.

Seinfeld

A show about nothing that somehow manages to be about everything. Seinfeld is observational comedy at its finest, with a rhythm and tone that still feels oddly modern. Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer are neurotic icons — forever stuck in their own little world, and endlessly rewatchable for it.

Desperate Housewives

Wisteria Lane may have looked pristine, but Desperate Housewives was anything but. It’s juicy, campy, and darkly funny — a murder mystery wrapped in mid-2000s suburbia with just enough soapiness to keep things delightfully unhinged.

Offspring

Messy, funny, and deeply emotional — Offspring gave us Nina Proudman and a wonderfully chaotic Melbourne world where love, grief, and career crossed paths in gloriously unpredictable ways. It’s one of those rare series that makes you feel like you’ve grown alongside its characters, and is always guaranteed to make you both laugh and cry, a lot.

Skins

Wild, raw and genuinely heartbreaking, Skins captured British youth culture with all its rough edges intact. It’s flawed, provocative, sometimes painful — but that’s also what makes it feel so real. Watching it now feels like opening an old diary you wrote in another lifetime.

Entourage

The Hollywood fantasy through a very mid-2000s male lens, Entourage was brash, glossy, and wildly escapist. The bro-energy may feel slightly dated now, but there’s still something irresistibly nostalgic about the fast cars, fast talk, and fast deals.

Lost

Mysterious island? Check. Smoke monster? Check. Emotional damage? Double check. Lost was chaotic, gripping and occasionally maddening — but when it worked, it really worked. It ushered in a new era of ambitious storytelling, and yes, we’re still debating that ending.

Girls

Lena Dunham’s Girls was messy, self-aware and divisive — and that’s exactly what made it interesting. It captured a kind of post-college floundering that still rings true, balancing raw vulnerability with biting humour. The perfect rewatch ahead of the release of Dunham’s upcoming Netflix series, Too Much.

The Sopranos

Complex, brooding, and in a league of its own, The Sopranos is essential viewing — not just for its Mafia mythology, but for what it revealed about masculinity, power, and inner conflict. Tony Soprano walked so prestige TV could run.

Absolutely Fabulous

Ab Fab is champagne-soaked chaos at its most hilarious. Patsy and Edina are gloriously self-destructive, endlessly quotable, and still feel like the original blueprint for fashion-obsessed fabulousness. It’s satire with stilettos — and it’s still absolutely brilliant.

Dawson’s Creek

Over-articulate teenagers feeling everything at volume 100. Dawson’s Creek was peak late-‘90s melodrama — earnest, angsty, and irresistibly nostalgic. It’s a time capsule of crushed velvet, love triangles, and that Paula Cole theme song we all still kind of know.

That 70’s Show

A basement. A circle. A killer soundtrack. That ‘70s Show nailed the awkwardness and absurdity of adolescence with retro flair and just enough heart to keep things grounded. It’s sitcom comfort food — with bell bottoms.

New Girl

Quirky, charming, and quietly profound, New Girl gave us a loft full of lovable weirdos, led by Zooey Deschanel’s offbeat optimism. It’s feel-good television that doesn’t talk down to you — just the right amount of silly, with surprising emotional depth.

Men in Trees

Often forgotten but utterly charming, Men in Trees was like Northern Exposure meets Sex and the City — a relationship writer in Alaska, navigating love, snow, and small-town strangeness. Cosy, a little corny, and weirdly therapeutic.

The Office

Still one of the most quoted series ever, The Office balances cringeworthy workplace antics with genuine emotion. Its charm lies in the mundanity — where the workday consists of ego clashes, inappropriate behaviour, tedium and romance, and of course Rickey Gervais’ razor-sharp comedy.

The Mentalist

The Mentalist paired murder investigations with Patrick Jane’s offbeat charm and haunted past. It’s procedural TV with a side of psychology — satisfying, stylish, and quietly addictive.

Sons of Anarchy

Bikes, brotherhood, and Shakespearean levels of betrayal. Sons of Anarchy is gritty, emotional, and occasionally brutal — but what lingers most is its exploration of loyalty and identity. It’s Hamlet in leather.

Breaking Bad

A chemistry teacher turned kingpin — Breaking Bad remains one of television’s most masterful )and most watched) descents into darkness. It’s tightly plotted, beautifully acted, and still manages to shock, even on rewatch. Every detail matters, and nothing is wasted.

One Tree Hill

More than just a high school drama, One Tree Hill had a way of turning every emotion up to eleven — heartbreak, ambition, forgiveness, grief. It gave us epic basketball games, even bigger love stories, and a surprisingly enduring emotional pull. Revisiting it now feels like catching up with old friends.

How I Met Your Mother

Part sitcom, part love story, HIMYM mixed slapstick humour with emotional storytelling — and yes, the finale remains divisive. But it’s the journey (and the friendships) that still hold up, especially when you just want something familiar to fall into.

Sit fireside at one of the cosiest eateries in Auckland

When the temperature drops, there’s nothing quite like the lure of a flickering fire, especially when paired with a glass of something full-bodied and a plate that warms the belly. Across the city, eateries light up the night with flame-grilled fare and enticing fireside dining, and these are the tops spots doing just that.

Andiamo

In Andiamo’s back dining room, the fireplace throws a steady, comforting heat — just the thing on a cold winter’s night. Tucked away from the buzz of the bar, it creates a quieter, more intimate setting, perfect for lingering over a delectable bowl pf pasta and a good glass of red.

Light up the night with enticing fireside dining at Jervois Steak House

Jervois Steak House

At Jervois Steak House, you can sink into a cosy seat and warm up beside the hearth with a prime cut and a glass of Central Otago pinot, a pairing that needs no improvement. The menu is unapologetically classic — think scotch fillet with béarnaise, truffle mac and cheese, and thick-cut fries — made all the better when enjoyed in the glow of an open fire.

Somm Wine Bar & Bistro

Down at the waterfront, Somm Wine Bar & Bistro delivers cellar door energy, with waterfront views and the kind of fire-lit atmosphere that makes the experience more authentic. The menu leans into European-style fare, while the wine list heroes local producers, with plenty available by the glass for leisurely sipping fireside.

settle near the glow of the open hearth at Kingi

Kingi

At Britomart’s Kingi, settle near the glow of the open hearth and indulge in seasonal and seafood-forward dishes, often cooked over flames. Here, flames aren’t just for show, but central to the kitchen’s approach, adding depth and smokiness to everything from sustainably caught fish to fire-roasted vegetables.

Don’t miss your chance to own a rare slice of paradise in Beachhouse — a trio of apartments designed by Cheshire Architects

In a coveted waterfront spot in Kohimarama sits Beachhouse — a trio of luxury apartments designed by Cheshire, offering unhindered access to Kohi beachfront and a life well lived.

Rarely does the opportunity arise to inhabit the shoreline so completely. Beachhouse is a singular trio of refined beachfront apartments nestled on Tāmaki Drive in Kohimarama, conceived not just as homes, but as enduring sanctuaries. Designed by Cheshire — one of New Zealand’s most lauded architectural practices — and brought to life by Gosling, this exclusive project distills decades of design intelligence into three quietly confident residences. The result is a celebration of coastal living, elevated by architectural grace and unbridled attention to detail.

Far from the gaudy essence of beachfront living present around the world, Beachhouse does away with showiness, opting instead for a language of understated luxury (without a marble accent in sight). Instead, finely textured brick, crafted timber, and softly tactile finishes echo the surrounding land and sea. Cheshire’s hallmark restraint is on full display — warm, earthen materials, carefully proportioned volumes, and moments of intimacy balanced with expansive views. Each home — distinct yet complementary — engages with the environment differently, but all are imbued with a serene sense of calm and composure.

Apartment One, The Shoreline, is grounded in lush gardens, offering direct connection to the coast. The Canopy, Apartment Two, is enfolded by the sculptural limbs of pōhutukawa, a sanctuary amidst the native canopy. Apartment Three, The Horizon, commands near 270-degree views — a top-floor retreat that feels almost airborne, where sea and sky dissolve into one.

“Each home — distinct yet complementary — engages with the environment differently, but all are imbued with a serene sense of calm and composure.”

Dada Engineered Kitchen by Molteni&C from Dawson & Co.

At the heart of each home is a sleek kitchen by Molteni&C — the Italian design house known for crafting spaces where utility becomes art — which sets the tone for the considered interiors. Gaggenau and Sub-Zero appliances, alongside carefully crafted (and expansive) Molteni&C wardrobes, complete the picture of refined daily living. Throughout, Beachhouse is shaped by a reverence for longevity — a belief that beauty and quality must not only coexist, but endure.

Gliss Master-Grip wardrobe by Molteni&C from Dawson & Co.

From a sunrise paddleboard a stone’s throw from home to sipping a coffee in the sunlight spilling across a winter garden terrace, this is a home as fluid as life itself — offering the rare privilege of true beachside living with the city’s cultural and commercial heart just moments away.

At Beachhouse, a life of elegance and ease unfolds. Meticulous architecture meets a rare coastal setting, spaces are designed for both solitude and connection, and every detail, from the crafted interiors to the curated landscape, speaks to a refined sensibility — all just minutes from the city, yet in its own world entirely.
