Navigating the Extraordinary: Discover the world’s most exotic boat journeys

Craving adventure? These unforgettable voyages redefine luxury, sustainability, and cultural immersion. From gliding along the serene rivers of France’s Champagne region to sailing through Indonesia’s turquoise waters, these journeys offer the perfect balance of comfort, exclusivity, and environmental consciousness.

Sail Egypt’s Timeless River

Drift between Luxor and Aswan aboard Al Mourad, an intimate sailing dahabiya that revives the graceful, wind-powered vessels that carried travellers along the Nile more than a century ago. Newly launched, it offers a refined and deeply personal way to experience Egypt’s most storied waterway – one that moves to the rhythm of the current rather than the schedule of a cruise terminal.

Designed for only a handful of guests, Al Mourad ensures privacy and quiet indulgence, with elegantly appointed cabins, ensuite bathrooms, and generous windows that frame the shifting theatre of the riverbank: palm groves and sandbanks, fishermen at work, and the desert stretching beyond.

The four-night journey traces a route past some of the ancient world’s most extraordinary monuments, with unhurried mornings ashore at Karnak, the temples of Luxor, Edfu and Kom Ombo, before returning to the deck as the sails are raised once more.

Dining is a highlight, with an onboard chef preparing everything fresh from local produce and taken beneath lantern light on deck, while the crew (one for almost every guest) anticipates every need.

Between temples, the days invite stillness: yoga and meditation at dusk, massage on the upper deck, and evenings given over to Nubian music and dance or the classical melodies that have echoed along this river for generations.

Without engines to break the quiet, the voyage unfolds at the pace of the river itself, mooring each evening in places larger ships simply cannot reach — a gentler way to travel that leaves the Nile much as it found it.
