Studio Italia has unveiled a new Flexform space at its Nugent Street showroom, presenting the Italian furniture house through a series of immersive, residentially scaled settings rather than a traditional single-room display.

Beginning at the showroom’s double-height glass corner, the space gradually shifts from open and light-filled to more intimate, layered interiors. Hand-woven rope columns, backlit fabric walls and pale timber screening divide the floor into distinct settings, while a room-height lightbox depicting a mountain rising through mist anchors the far end.

Fresh from Milan are new expressions of Flexform signatures, including Groundpiece, Cestone, Loungescape and Camelot, accompanied by armchairs, ottomans, tables and shelving. Across the collection, the brand’s material language comes into focus through details such as hand-woven leather, rope-woven Canaletto walnut, feather-filled cushions and woven hide.

The palette remains warm and grounded, with bouclés, wools, cognac and tobacco leathers, walnut, pale oak, marble and natural jute creating a tactile backdrop that encourages closer inspection. A dedicated material library and selection area also gives designers and clients space to explore Flexform’s fabrics, leathers, timbers and finishes alongside the furniture itself.

Founded near Milan in 1959 and still family-owned, Flexform has long been known for its upholstered furniture and enduring collaboration with Antonio Citterio. For Studio Italia founder and director Valeria Carbonaro, the new space has transformed the way the collection is experienced in Auckland, bringing the latest pieces together in a setting designed to be sat in, touched and lived with.

The new Flexform space is open now at Studio Italia, 25 Nugent Street, Grafton.
