Kāryn Taylor turns light, geometry and perception into art

Kāryn Taylor’s artworks instil a sense of wonder. Cast acrylic, layered and cut, throws lines of colour that hover with no visible source. Working through metaphysics and quantum physics, she asks where reality ends and illusion begins.

In her new exhibition, Experimental Physics, Taylor extends this investigation through sculptural works, light boxes and an animated installation, using geometry, colour and movement to unsettle our confidence in what we think we see. Familiar forms begin to behave in unexpected ways, while shifts in light and perspective reveal perception itself as something fluid rather than fixed.

The result is an exhibition that feels both intellectually rigorous and visually seductive, inviting us to reconsider the assumptions that shape our understanding of the physical world.

Experimental Physics by Kāryn Taylor runs from 14th October to 8th November at Sanderson.
