Eleven years later, a phone call from a young woman he becomes convinced is Maggie pulls him back into the case, setting off a desperate search that could either reunite his fractured family or reopen wounds that never healed. Inspired in part by the real-life kidnapping of Jaycee Dugard, the series is fictional, but its premise points to a dark, emotionally charged mystery centred on loss, obsession and the possibility that the truth may be even harder to live with than not knowing.
