Antipodean talent has rarely commanded more of the world’s attention than it does right now, and the great European houses have taken note. Bvlgari has named Australian actress Maia Mitchell as its newest brand ambassador, an appointment announced in Sydney that brings one of this region’s most accomplished screen exports into the fold of the Roman Maison.
Mitchell arrives with a career of enviable range. The Lismore-born actress spent a decade in Los Angeles anchoring The Fosters and its spin-off Good Trouble before returning home to star as Lady Belle Fox opposite Thomas Brodie-Sangster in The Artful Dodger, the acclaimed Dickensian drama whose second season premiered earlier this year.
Hers is the trajectory of someone who went out into the world, mastered it, and brought that assurance home. It is precisely the quality Bvlgari prizes, and the alignment feels effortless: a house built on serpents, saturated colour and unapologetic glamour, and an actress whose ease in her own skin has always been her signature. “Maia brings a genuine sense of confidence and authenticity that resonates deeply with the spirit of Bvlgari,” says Patricia Mortensen, Country Managing Director of Bvlgari Oceania. Mitchell returns the sentiment. “I’ve always admired the Maison’s bold creative vision and deep respect for heritage. That confidence to evolve while staying true to its identity is what makes Bvlgari so distinctive.”
