Soul Punch is back at last, bringing a taste of Palm Springs heat to Viaduct Harbour this winter

Winter is about to get decidedly hotter, as Soul Bar & Bistro’s much-loved Sunday afternoon soirée returns after a two-year hiatus, with a retro Palm Springs twist guaranteed to turn up the heat at Viaduct Harbour.

Taking place on Sunday the 16th of August, Soul Punch will see the waterfront stalwart transformed into a sun-soaked playground of old-world glamour. Think ice-cold martinis delivered tableside and a dress code that calls for a bikini and a fur coat in equal measure. Hosted in partnership with Absolut Tabasco, the event will offer the first New Zealand taste of the brand’s new Tabasco-infused vodka, showcased in a line-up of punch-inspired cocktails, with a martini cart adding a little extra theatre.

Beyond the drinks, guests will be treated to a tempting three-course sharing menu and a glass of Mumm Grand Cordon on arrival. Those quick off the mark will be rewarded, too, with the first 24 bottles of Mumm ordered upgraded to magnums.

As afternoon slips into evening, a trio of exceptional DJs will provide the soundtrack. Mamba Selects will open with his sun-drenched mix of disco, funk and house, before the genre-spanning DJ Vincent Hanna takes over. New Zealand heavyweight Grant Marshall will then bring proceedings home with an infectious, high-energy house set.

As always, this winter’s Soul Punch is shaping up to be the party of the season. Secure your place here before tickets disappear.
