Spring arrives with considerably more attitude at Commercial Bay, as Solstice returns for four days of fashion, music, food and new-season diversion.
Running from Thursday the 24th to Sunday the 27th of September, the precinct-wide event will once again centre around fashion, with two open-air runway shows taking over Commercial Bay’s ground-level laneway. Curated and styled by leading New Zealand creative Sammy Salsa, the shows will bring together new-season collections from the likes of Zambesi, Juliette Hogan and Hugo Boss, with P-Money performing live throughout both runway events. Public viewing will be available from Levels One and Two, making the spectacle as much a part of the precinct as the clothes themselves.

Beyond the runway, Solstice will unfold across Commercial Bay with a series of one-off collaborations, previews and experiences spanning fashion, beauty and hospitality. Zambesi will host an exclusive summer collection preview with the designer in store; Queens Rooftop is serving a limited-edition Whitebait Toastie; Moochi has teamed up with J’aime for a macaron collaboration; while Origine is introducing a special pre-show aperitif. Elsewhere, expect bespoke beauty experiences, new-store celebrations, gifts with purchase and event-only offers across the precinct.

There is also a suitably playful incentive to indulge. Anyone who spends $150 or more at participating Solstice retailers can take their receipt to the Commercial Bay Concierge, collect a token and try their luck at the Solstice claw machine, where one shopper will uncover a $5,000 Commercial Bay spending spree.
Now in its fourth year, Solstice has become one of Commercial Bay’s defining seasonal moments, bringing fashion out of the stores and into the laneway while giving visitors plenty to discover between shows. With spring collections, live music, limited-edition menus and unexpected collaborations all landing across the same four days, it is shaping up to be a particularly good excuse to spend an afternoon, or an evening, in the city.
When & Where: Thursday 24th — Sunday 27th September, Commercial Bay
Runway shows: Thursday 24th September at 8pm and Saturday 26th September at 1pm.
