Ragtag burst into Westmere with unapologetically bold flair. Chef Dan Freeman — known for his culinary pop-ups — has transformed this neighbourhood haunt into a laid-back yet lively haven. The menu is ever‑changing: Sonoran-style duck-fat tortillas, vibrant fish or prawn tostadas with ponzu and pear salsa, and crunchy “beef nuggets” that instantly became local legends. Not claiming to be authentic, and all the better for it — flavours that don’t aim for tradition but land with unapologetic intensity. The space is snug and lively, filled with friendly banter and stocked shelves of sauces and pickles. Ragtag proves that a casual aesthetic can hide serious flavour.
