Jordan and Sarah Macdonald’s names have become synonymous with a certain standard of European-centric dining in Auckland. The husband-and-wife team has been responsible for some of Auckland’s most-loved restaurants in the same small pocket of Birkenhead, and Duo was their first project together. The blueprint for any good all-day eatery, Duo is that rare breed of a restaurant that is simultaneously a worthy local and also somewhere absolutely worth travelling for. It’s no surprise that its success spurred the opening of two more venues nearby in quick succession.
