The bistro craze well and truly took hold in 2025, and while some restaurants of this ilk opt for bland interpretations of the grand dames that delight in cities like London, Paris and New York, Bistro Saine feels plucked from a European boulevard. It’s unsurprising when you discover the restaurant is the brainchild of James Ingram, a leading hospitality design consultant responsible for some of Sydney’s most iconic venues. But it’s also down to the sheer pedigree behind the pass, with a kitchen team stacked with experience everywhere from The Grove and Paris Butter to Sidart. Expect perfectly executed classics like steak tartare, Comte tart, and herby, verdant parsley risotto.
