Baduzzi is Wynyard Quarter’s answer to a New York-style Italian trattoria — lively, sophisticated, and utterly obsessed with meatballs. Owner Michael Dearth (of The Grove fame) brings “food of the people” flair to this harborside hotspot. The menu is a carb-lover’s dream: hand-rolled pasta tangled around braised wild boar, legendary meatballs (wagyu, duck, you name it) swimming in rich tomato sugo, and charred seafood fresh off the boat. Service is polished yet jovial, and the extensive Italian wine list begs you to linger. From the red-and-white tiled floors to the final spoonful of tiramisu, Baduzzi is a joyful celebration of la famiglia.
