What began as a humble street food dream in 2017 has grown into Rotorua’s definitive Mexican destination, one so beloved it has since expanded to Hamilton and Auckland. At the flagship Cantina on Tutanekai Street, hand-pressed tortillas, sizzling fajitas and vibrant ceviche are prepared with genuine respect for generations of culinary heritage, using locally sourced ingredients throughout. The empanadas and homemade chorizo draw particular devotion, the margaritas are among the best in town, and vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diners are all well looked after.
