Registrations have opened for Kids Yoga at Huckleberry’s ‘The Nest’

Last year, purveyors of all things health and wellbeing, Huckleberry, opened The Nest in New Lynn as a holistic hub. Facilitating and hosting wellness events and workshops for the community, their kids yoga classes are about to kick off for term three, and they’re the perfect way to get your wee ones moving.

Taking place on Tuesday afternoons (3:45pm – 4:45pm) qualified yoga instructor Tanya Holak (alongside her son, Ethan) will guide the next generation of yogis through various Vinyasa flows and traditional Hatha poses, with a focus on form but more importantly, fun. Through a series of games and yoga sequences children will learn to align their body movements with their breath, building physical strength and helping them to create and maintain a sense of inner calm. At the end of each session, stories designed to give children the tools to deal with negative emotions like fear, anxiety and anger, will be told as part of a guided meditation, before sending the littlies home in a state of total zen — fingers crossed.

Bookings are essential and registrations for the classes are open here. They will be running from the 8th of May until the 26th of June and are suited to children between 6 and 10 years old.
