Wine is a beverage that is so much more than just a beverage. It’s capable of getting us through times of stress, heartbreak, hardships, as well as elevating emotions of happiness and even has its practical purpose of enhancing dining experiences by enhancing the flavours of food. It’s a drink that needs to be appreciated and celebrated and Winetopia is the perfect event for that.
Having faced immense success in previous years, Winetopia presented by Singapore Airlines is back for its fourth round and is looking better than ever before. This is no doubt, the ultimate celebration of New Zealand wine and Shed 10 on Queens Wharf is set to transform into a wonderland of wine tastings, learning and of course, food on the weekend of the 14th and 15th of June. Think beyond your regular wine tasting of sipping on a few glasses as Winetopia is exceeding expectations by bringing over 60 premium wineries, nationwide, under one roof.
In addition to the endless pours of premium wine, the people behind the bottle will also be at the event to enlighten guests on the effort that went into the delectable drops. Winemakers from different regions across the country such as Kumeu River, Nautilus Estate and Gibbston Valley, to name a few, along with credible wine connoisseurs such as Bob Campbell and Nick Stock will be giving masterclasses and talks throughout the day, as well as live music performances to keep guests entertained.
Wine would simply be incomplete without the dine factor, which is why Winetopia has committed an equal amount of effort to the food aspect of the event. Different cuisines from around the globe will be featured, with eateries such as Akemi Gyoza, Salash Delicatessen and Taste of Sri Lanka being included in their mouth-watering line-up. If none of those tickles your fancy, not to worry as artisan cheese will most definitely be featured.
Whether you have a real passion for and rich knowledge of wine or are more of a shy newbie, Winetopia is the perfect, celebratory event that has a little bit of everything for everyone to enjoy. A number of tickets have sold, which just goes to show how highly-anticipated this event is. However, you can still get a pass that costs $42 and includes five wine tasting tokens, a Spiegelau wine glass, a three-month subscription to The Real Review and access to talks and entertainment.
