Those who have missed The Blue Breeze Inn’s flavoursome fusion fare will be delighted to know that, recently the Ponsonby restaurant launched their first-ever foray into offering takeaways. Now, within the comfort of our very own home, we can tuck into our favourite Blue Breeze mainstays — the only hard part? Narrowing down our order to a digestible size. No matter; that’s where leftovers come in.
From Wednesday through to Sunday nights, get your hands on a multitude of mouth-watering dishes, from the famous steamed buns with pork belly and pickled cucumber to stir-fried black pepper beef with wok-blistered peppers. The new crayfish and crab wontons with black vinegar and chilli are a must-order, and plant-based eaters are well catered for with truffled mushroom fried rice, gochujang tofu steamed buns and more.
It’s worth noting that while many of Auckland’s eateries are run off their feet Friday through to Sunday, those open earlier in the week would probably appreciate a more even distribution of business. So why not treat yourself and your bubble on a Wednesday or Thursday? If there’s a time when weeknight takeaways are 100 percent acceptable, it’s now.
