The Princes Wharf Oyster Festival is back: here’s everything you need to know

It’s that time again, Bluff season is upon us. Back for its fourth consecutive year, The Princes Wharf oyster festival will once again be delivering an oyster extravaganza to the mollusc-hungry residents of Auckland. Kicking off on March 1st with decadent set menus, live music-filled events, masterclasses, all-you-can-eat deals and much, much more — this year is set to be bigger and better than ever.

Whether you’re a seasoned shucker or are yet to try your first oyster, Euro will be delivering the goods like never before. Be sure to keep Wednesday 20th March free, for on this day the restaurant will be holding its much anticipated Great Bluff Lunch. A superb gastronomical affair set to showcase the oyster in all its glory, for just $250 a head attendees can expect a titillating five-course set menu all served up alongside free-flowing Champagne. What’s more, the waterfront stalwart will also be serving up new season Bluffies served as they should be, (with nothing but lemon) for $29.95 per dozen.

Champagne not your beverage of choice? Over at Coley & Punch, the ultimate pairing of whisky and oysters will be served: three oysters served three ways, each matched with their own individual glass of smooth whisky. While those wanting to skip the preamble and just get down to oyster-slurping business can head to The Culpeper, where every day in March from 4-7pm you can indulge in freshly shucked specialities, served au naturel with a spritz of lemon, for just $2 a pop.

With an array of other enticing deals and events, not to mention an oyster and music festival (filled with contests and prizes) and a beer and oyster pairing, it seems this year’s oyster celebration really has knocked it out of the park.
