Introducing The Porridger — the new Parnell Market food stall that’s making it its mission to warm Aucklanders from the inside out, one delicious bowl of oats at a time.
Combining organic steel oats — chosen because of their added nutrients and protein — with delectable flavourings, toppings and garnishes, The Porridger is serving up something far more than your average brekkie. The food stall will be offering a rotating menu, switching up the recipes and introducing new flavours each week to keep the porridge enthusiasts coming back for more. If their past concoctions are anything to go by — think steaming oats topped with chia seeds, runny honey, sweet blueberry compote and toasted coconut or Whittaker’s peanut butter chocolate with sliced banana and a hearty drizzling of Larry’s toffee sauce — then we’re sure to be in for a treat. With options in mind for a summer take on porridge and a following that’s growing by the second, we’re expecting these porridge connoisseurs to hang around long after winter has thawed.
