L’affare Melrose’s new winter dishes are satisfying our cold-weather cravings

With a philosophy of seasonality that extends beyond simply using the word ‘seasonal’ in an exhaustive, buzzwordy way, L’affare Melrose‘s commitment to altering its menu with each season ensures their offering remains eminently fresh. As temperatures start to drop and we find ourselves eschewing the crisp, fruity flavours of summer for something a bit more hearty and warming, this Newmarket favourite has, once again, come through by adding a number of delicious, new winter dishes to its ever-changing menu.

Featuring lunchtime heroes like a temperate beetroot and farro salad with goat’s cheese and bitter greens and a celeriac and apple salad with pork belly rocket and lemon, the new breakfast-style dishes have equally piqued our interest. An indulgent salted coconut granola with puffed quinoa and fresh, seasonal fruits and a decidedly Instagramable avocado dish with lime, chilli and pistachio on thick-cut toast with a poached egg are providing appetising reasons to get out of bed on brisk mornings. And if you consider yourself something of a caffeine fanatic, Eddie (L’affare Melrose’s resident coffee expert) will be onsite roasting, blending, grinding and packing the signature L’affare blend, for your viewing pleasure. Positioning itself as more than just a place to drop in for a bite, L’affare Melrose is a veritable hub for coffee-lovers, gourmands and those wanting to host their own functions.
