Titirangi welcomes a fresh treetop eatery just in time for summer.
Over the past couple of weeks, in a quiet sort of a way, a quaint eatery has slipped onto the scene in Titirangi. Tucked right in the heart of the village, iTi takes its name from the Māori word for ‘little’, so it comes as no surprise that the ‘drinks and bites garden’ is cosy. But with an exceptional menu, an inclusive line-up of craft beers, and stellar outlook from a breezy deck to the sprawling native bush below, the place lacks for nothing.
And the locals have noticed. Almost fully-booked for dinner in the lead up to Christmas, the relaxed restaurant has already garnered quite the reputation. With mains like Savannah eye fillet with smoked potato and port jus and a 24-hour brined confit duck leg with wild mushrooms, we’re sure you can understand why. Catering to the days where the focus is more on liquid than lunch too, we can’t imagine a finer way to while away a balmy afternoon than with a frosty rosé in-hand, picking at one of the Titirangi restaurant’s artisan grazing boards that come loaded with cheeses, chutneys and lavash. If a few small plates happened to cross our table at the same time — say the free-range confit pork belly or beetroot cured salmon with wasabi caviar — so be it.
A relaxed stop in on the way to the beach or a destination in itself, iTi is a versatile little offering that has popped up just in time for summer… just be sure to book in advance.
