A few months back, we wrote a piece about the Egg Waffle and its impending takeover of the street food scene. Staying true to our culinary forecast, a new purveyor of these intriguing sweet treats has arrived, serving up some of the finest bubbly incarnations yet.
EGGLOO is the Elliot Street-based food stall you need to try. Whipping up waffles with a paper thin crispy outer layer and a light and spongy centre, the rolled temptations are served in a cone and loaded up with ice cream, fresh fruit and dangerous toppings. There’s the ‘Salted and Sweet’, with a chocolate waffle, vanilla ice cream, salted caramel and candied bacon; a ‘Classic Matcha’ with matcha ice cream and red bean paste; and the incredibly Instagrammable ‘Baked Alaska’ which sees lemon ice cream hidden underneath a mountain of Italian meringue which has been torched to perfection.
A perfect treat to have up your sleeve when the rugrats are behaving, we’d say EGGLOO is well worth a go.
