Better Burger opens in Vulcan Lane

The beloved burger bar opens its doors to its Vulcan Lane eatery.

Identified by the long queues extending down Galway Street, nestled between famed nightlife destinations Britomart Country Club and 1885 conveniently lies a burger joint that has made its mark as a must visit before missioning home after a night out. With the boom of the burger igniting a gastronomic movement in the direction of healthy fast-food, it is music to inner-city dwellers’ ears that indeed Better Burger will be opening its doors to a second outpost in Vulcan Lane.

Responsible for the crisp fit-out is renowned architect Nat Cheshire who has kept it simple with American Oak, accents of concrete and an open kitchen, straying right away from the stereotypical white tile and fluorescent lights that are standard for your local LA eatery. Regulars will be familiar with the less-is-more menu approach with four burger options – the ham, cheese, double cheese and vege – taking the umming and ahhing out of the equation. This American style burger bar has one clear mission setting it apart from the connotations assigned to fast-food by being committed to the cause of serving up simple, fresh and utterly lip-smacking burgers and hand cut fries, sourcing only local ingredients with Loaf bakery providing fresh honey buns, beef brisket from their butcher pressed on site, all the vegetables delivered fresh each morning, and not a microwave or freezer in site.

Their winning formula takes the sogginess and grease out of our reluctantly beloved fast-food, not to mention offering bang for your buck. So with the news of the lines likely to be lessened thanks to this second inner-city locale, the next time we’re hankering after a juicy burger at the office, we know where we’ll be headed.

Open 11am till late Monday – Sunday.
