Opera: The Magic Flute

Given that we’ve developed a persuasion for classical music of late, our attention has turned to NZ Opera’s latest show, The Magic Flute. Opening in Wellington last week to nothing less than an overwhelmingly positive response, it will be showing at Auckland’s ASB Theatre at the Aotea Centre from 16th – 26th June. For those partial to a fanciful fairytale, Mozart’s romantic story of love conquering all is an opera that has it all; drama, comedy, magic and of course, beautiful music. The storyline of good conquering evil follows the hero, Prince Tamino, as he seeks to save his beloved Pamina from the clutches of her evil mother, Queen of the Night.
