Exhibition: Sculpture by Numbers

One of our country’s most talented figurative sculptors, Olivier Duhamel has strayed from his trademark bronze figurines to explore and develop the ‘topology’ of the human form.

Having long been captivated by the female form, the largely self taught, Waiheke-based artist’s works, whether drawn or casted, often stem from classically elegant silhouettes. His latest showcase is no different, however, allowing him to “scale up his works without breaking the bank”, Duhamel has temporarily traded in his favoured medium of bronze for laser cut plywood, resulting in a series of detailed constructs that are a sight to behold.

Sculpture by Numbers by Olivier Duhamel is taking over Remuera Gallery from August 3rd – 15th, 2015.
