Spectacular, striking, and deliciously camp: We breakdown the best looks from this year’s Met Gala

Acknowledged as the Oscars of the fashion world, the Met Gala has been and gone for another year, leaving us reeling in the face of arguably the most outrageous red carpet we’ve seen in recent years. Given the theme this year was Camp — and chairs included Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, Serena Williams and Alessandro Michele — a certain level of exaggeration was expected. But it was a delight to see how many of the VIP attendees seemed to revel in the chance to play with over-the-top looks (and actually have some fun with it). If you’re still unsure about what ‘camp fashion’ actually means, consult our outline here. Otherwise, join us in appreciating some of the best of the weird, wonderful and incredibly camp outfits donned by the who’s who of fashion and pop-culture.

Lady Gaga made an entrance in Brandon Maxwell that set the tone for the evening…
