Take refuge in this unlikely urban pit stop with the accompaniment of some superlative coffee.
For some months now, there’s been a secret lurking behind the car yards on Great North Road – a container going by the name of ‘Bunker’ that’s proving to be something of an unlikely oasis. Set slightly off the beaten track, here you’ll find a reprieve from the incessant traffic and nearby urban commotion, serving up what is rumoured to be the vicinity’s foremost excellent coffee (of the Atomic variety) and an array of delicious morsels throughout the day.
Those who work in a close enough proximity would do well to make this spot their go-to for lunch, with a delicious range of sandwiches, salads and sweet treats on offer coming out of their resourceful little set-up. For those who don’t – those who perhaps are waiting to pick up the car after having its service – the laid-back and largely outdoor set up is becoming even more appealing with the improved weather and a line-up of cocoon chairs and bean bags out front, ready to sink into for a moment’s grace whilst enjoying some stellar caffeination.
