We inject some magic back into our tresses with this clever bespoke cocktail for your hair.

If there is one thing I’ve learned over the years with my high maintenance long locks is that in order to maintain healthy, perfectly polished hair, a little extra care in between cuts is something of a necessity in order to keep it in top-notch condition. Limp, languid hair is anything but glamourous, and thanks to my rather over zealous use of a heated curler, my locks were in dire need of something a little gruntier than a DIY conditioning treatment or reluctantly having to give in to a trim.

Enter Kérastase’s Fusio Dose. Long a fan of their luxurious shampoos and conditioner, I had recently read about this revolutionary new treatment in a magazine and was pleased to find it was now being offered locally. I quickly headed along to Bettjemans hair salon in Orakei to give my hair up to this new bespoke conditioning treatment, designed to repair and restore your locks to a salon-like shine by treating all sorts of hair concerns, from everything from dry, lifeless locks to hair lacking shine or volume.

Working its magic by fusing together highly concentrated doses of active Kérastase technologies including components such as calcium and omega, the revolutionary Fusio Dose is the first made-to-measure conditioning ritual, based on a range of combinations that are ‘prescribed’ depending on individual requirements, by your hair stylist during your consultation. There are sixteen different combinations possible to tackle any of your hair woes. My stylist, in a bid to inject some glossy magic back into my hair by repairing my dry and brittle ends, opted for a base of ‘nourishment’, to combat dry hair with a secondary booster treatment of Omega, to provide deeply penetrating replenishment and protection. After a thorough double shampoo and condition, the treatment was sprayed into sections of my hair and worked in with a comb and scalp massage – bliss. My hair was then rinsed and blow-dried to perfection to reveal my healthy new mane of hair – without having to lose any of my precious inches!

The treatment is said to last for up to two weeks, gradually fading out as you wash. I’m a few washes in and my hair still feels super glossy and tangle free, without (unlike many other conditioning treatments I’ve experimented with) feeling weighed down by product.

The Fusio Dose treatment can be utilised (as I did) for an in-between cut hair spruce, or as an additional pampering treatment in conjunction with your regular appointments. Literally putting back in what all the harsh environmental and self imposed heat elements take out of your hair, this particular treatment is now high on my hairstyling radar – giving a luxe recharge that leaves locks polished and pretty until your next date with the hairdresser.
