duck & pinot at o’connell street bistro
An inner-city European style bistro dishes up the killer gastronomic combination of duck and Pinot Noir this July.
Here’s your chance to indulge in the dish of the season. Duck is a deliciously rich dish that is the perfect accompaniment to a fine Pinot Noir. But there’s no need to elaborately conceal yourself in swampy vegetation to get your hands on it.
With the official duck hunting season running until the end of July, Cloudy Bay is fortuitously hosting another of their wildly popular Pinot & Duck trails, working with 11 of the country’s best restaurants to create heavenly food and wine matches that feature each restaurant’s signature duck dish matched with a glass of Cloudy Bay’s Pinot Noir. It’s the perfect chance to enjoy duck in the more hospitable surroundings of a warm, urban restaurant.
On the Cloudy Bay Pinot & Duck trail is inner city favourite – O’Connell Street Bistro. Their small intimate dining room of only fourteen tables will be serving their delicious duck dish for those embarking on the Pinot & Duck Trail. Head chef Stephen Ward has expertly matched the layers of dark berries, cinnamon and white pepper lingering in Cloudy Bay’s Pinot Noir with his dish; a lacquered duck breast and leg with choy sum, shitake mushrooms and a ginger, spring onion broth.
