A new weekend market dedicated solely to flowers and sweet treats

There’s no denying that Aucklanders are enthusiastic market-goers. And though we don’t have the likes of London’s Columbia Road Flower Market or Bangkok’s epicurean street food sessions, we are finding our feet with the more dedicated variety.

Enter Baker & Bloom, a new market offering taking place at Silo Park next weekend. Mixing ‘sweets, treats and beautiful blooms’, it’ll be the first market of its kind in the country and we’re expecting great things with names such as Mt Eden heavy-hitter Olafs, Mint Cakery and Our Little Kitchen Co scheduled to make an appearance.

In terms of flora, the organisers have The Flower Project lined up alongside various others and are taking applications for anyone else who’s interested. Starting at 9am and running till 3pm (or until all goods are sold out) with some sweet tunes from DJ Jun Iwasaki to boot, you can rest assured that we’ll be popping down ourselves in the hopes of coming away with a few hot cross buns and a crisp bunch of fresh lisianthus.

Due to severe weather warnings, this market as now been canceled until further notice. For more information, click here
