clicquot degustation dinner

We look forward in anticipation to next week’s Queenstown event, Clicquot in the Snow. The highlight? A delicious degustation at Wakatipu Grill.

As a toast to celebrate the snowy season, the annual Clicquot in the Snow event kicks off in our favourite winter playground, Queenstown next week, with all manner of aprés-ski fun to be had. Discerning locals and out of towners will be clutching champagne flutes of Veuve Clicquot, as they take part in the week long celebrations. There will be Veuve Clicquot brunch sessions at Pier 19, healthy doses of champagne fueled competition in various table tennis tournaments, an exclusive Kathryn Wilson runway show and several guest DJs at Queenstown party favourite, The Bunker.

The mainstay of the Clicquot in the Snow event calendar however, is the decadent degustation dinner at The Hilton’s acclaimed fine dining establishment Wakatipu Grill, with a menu created especially for the event by head chef Peter Thornley. Each of the four courses is matched with Veuve Clicquot. Expect to devour delicious main dishes such as butter roasted Auckland Island Scampi, cauliflower cream and tiny coral vegetables matched with the star of the champagne house – Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame 2004, followed by King Cole duck, orange pekoe tea, Nashi pear, mushroom caps and beetroot whilst swilling Veuve Clicquot Rosé NV.

In our opinion this is the event to attend in a week that’s certainly not short on entertaining activities. Tickets to the dinner cost $100 per person, which is incredible considering the quality of the champagne on offer. So if you are planning on being in Queenstown next week and would like to attend we suggest you secure tickets to this one-off event pronto.

The degustation will take place on Wednesday 25th of July at 7pm. To book tickets, contact Kathryn Parsons at The Hilton, Queenstown on [email protected].
