atomic does brunch
With their new weekend brunch menu, the Atomic Coffee Roastery in Kingsland is set to attract even more loyal followers.
Slotted in sneakily between breakfast and lunch, brunch can be a night owl-cum-party goer’s best friend when you’re still craving the alcohol absorbing qualities of eggs, despite the fact that it’s well past midday.
Atomic Roastery in the heart of Kingsland, widely renowned for their coffee roasting prowess, has recently added weekend brunch to their offerings. Already home to a dedicated brew bar and roaster, the café is now serving a delectable (and varied) brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays.
Intent on straying from the usual brunch fare, the menu is well thought out and not overwhelming. On our recent visit we chose the European-style tasty salmon gravlax with potatoes, horseradish, pickled fennel and rye, and the haloumi, pea and mint fritters with slow roasted beetroot. If you’re after something sweeter we had to exercise a considerable amount of self restraint not to go in for a second order after seeing the toasted banana bread with lemon ricotta bypass our table to another hungry patron. Accompanied by one of their famous soft brewed strong coffees, the tense shoulders and furrowed brows of the previous week disappeared in no time at all.
The brunch menu is available on weekends from 8am till 2pm. This is exactly how a weekend ought to begin.
