Limber up and ready your game face each Monday with the ultimate table tennis face-off at Tyler Street Garage.
Table tennis. The very mention of this humble table based game used to conjure up visions of tight gym shorts and harsh fluorescent gyms, as those who did not prosper in traditional athletic sports flicked their wrists and shuffled their feet for hours on end. In recent years however, table tennis has embarked on a revival, shedding it’s dorky exterior and well, growing up. Attracting the nimble footed and sharp eyed, the game, as Puma so elegantly suggested, is for the after hours athlete, who is much more likely to front up to the table with a beer in his or her hand than some energy releasing ‘iso’ sports drink.
If you possess a lethal back hand, or are even someone who is starting out on the path to table tennis glory, tonight’s championship event at Tyler Street Garage is the place to be. Starting at 6pm sharp every Monday, players can face-off against other enthusiasts for a $50 bar tab, while enjoying delicious free pizza and $6 Pacifico beers. Spectators are welcome. A great way to kick off the working week don’t you think?
