fit for a princess

The House of Chaumet delivers yet again, with a collection inspired by the Aigrette headpiece.

It seems like the extravagance and playfulness of the roaring 20s has been making a welcome reappearance of late. With celebrated director Baz Luhrmann’s take on the cinematic classic The Great Gatsby due to be gracing our cinema screens soon, designers have been looking back to the opulence of the decade as inspiration for their collections. Famed French jewellery house Chaumet has too fallen for the revelry and glamour of the heady, jazz-infused decade.

Chaumet’s Joséphine Aigrette collection is centered around the aigrette, a light and graceful feather head piece that adorned the heads of many a glamourous partygoer during this period. Egret feathers would slide into place behind gemstones that were worn with a headband or slide. The new pieces in the Joséphine Aigrette collection celebrate the aigrette’s shape and form. The bracelet and two diamond set rings are perfect for adding a touch of elegance everyday, whilst the tiara is a beautiful addition to any modern day princess’s head on a special day.

Refined and elegant, with a touch of the playfulness that Chaumet is so famous for, these coveted pieces are now available from Hartfield.
