spqr’s belvedere vodka platter
SPQR gets into birthday celebration mode with generous helpings of vodka and oysters.
One of the oldest Russian toasts runs along the lines of “may we always have a reason to party” and this September, SPQR is going to be doing just that. As part of their ongoing birthday celebrations, the Ponsonby Road stalwart will be toasting to 20 years of great food and friends, with the help of Belvedere vodka washed down with a platter of fresh oysters.
Served in a gigantic Belvedere ice bucket, you can enjoy a 375ml bottle of Belvedere vodka and a dozen fresh Orongo Bay oysters for only $120. The vodka is accompanied by an assortment of condiments including Morello cherries, lychees, limes, lemons, fresh mint and soda water, allowing you to be the master of your own mixology. SPQR’s Belvedere bucket can also be partnered with other dishes designed specifically to go with the Belvedere vodka; gravlax salmon cured in Hendrick’s gin, or blinis topped with Oscietra caviar, creme fraiche and chives. Make like a Russian oligarch and bandy together a group of friends to sip the night (or afternoon) away. Good times will most certainly prevail and the clinking of glasses is mandatory!
